Last Day in Idaho...

Philip and I are finishing packing up and tonight we will be spending the night with Jessie and Damien. Tomorrow, we will be on our way to Texas! We will miss all of our new friends in Idaho. This summer has gone by super fast. I'm not completely ready to go back to school. I feel like I just got out. Only one more year! :)

To all our friends in Texas, we will be seeing ya'll soon! And to all our friends in Idaho, come visit!

Love,
Jenn

Yellowstone

Saturday Philip, Zoey and I went to Yellowstone for the day. We drove the lower loop. Unfortunately the last half of the trip, I had a horrible migraine so I couldn't concentrate much on what we were seeing. :( I really want to go back sometime.

Zoey in the car

Elk

Cool stuff. I really have no idea what this is. I just like the colors.

Closer view. It was bubbling at the bottom.

Jelly Geyser

Old Faithful. It was really incredible.

Deer way back in the forest. All you can really see is the antlers and head.

Momma elk and babies.

The Bison were hilarious. One almost looked like it was going to charge our car and then they got on the road and surrounded our car.

Bison on the road.

A park ranger finally got in his car and came running and honking his horn to get them to move. The babies went running away, but their was a really stubborn bull that just looked at the guy and stuck his tongue out at him. It was probably the funniest thing we saw the whole trip.

Dragon Spring

Artist Point. The colors of the canyon were unreal! I don't think any camera can capture the beauty of this canyon. This is also called the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone.

Philip and I got tired of driving so Zoey took the wheel.

Herbie the Love Bug was there!

Today I've been starting to pack our stuff up to head home. It's hard to believe the summer is almost over. This may be one of my last posts! Thanks so much for reading!

Jackson with Ellen

Last Thursday, Ellen and I decided to go to Jackson. We dropped John off by Driggs so he could go on a bike ride and then we headed to Jackson. We had tons of fun looking in all of the neat shops. We also had lunch at the Bunnery. Their slogan was "Get your buns in here." Haha. I had a Bison burger with no bun. Jackson is a really neat town because it looks like an old western town. Even really modern stores are sporting the western theme. I was also really proud of myself because I only spent $5 the entire trip. :) I got a mocha crunch frappe for the trip home.
This is a pretty famous bar. They have saddles on poles for their barstools.

This was a cool looking sidecar which I thought was an actual old car at first.

Down one of the streets. I love the wooden sidewalks.

After we picked up John, it was about dinner time so they took me to the Warbird Cafe at Drigg's airport. This was the airport Harrison Ford used to keep his plane. John and Ellen told me about one time they came here and he and Calista Flockhart were there.

This is what we had for dessert, but I could only eat the ice cream. :( BUT I did have amazing crab stuffed mushrooms! :)

Gluten Intolerance and Celebrating an A

So about a month ago, Philip's dad ordered all the kids gluten tests. I won't go into details about what the test entailed, but last week Philip and I got our results. If you have a score under 10, you are considered normal. Anything over means you have a sensitivity to Gluten. The higher the number, the more sensitive you are. Philip scored 41 and I scored a whopping 114. :( Apparently that means that I may already have some intestinal damage that could turn into Celiac's disease. Big :(. So I have completely cut myself off of gluten. I'm hoping that this means I might see some weight loss too. :)

Last Tuesday (the day after I found out I was Gluten intolerant), John and Ellen took Philip and me out to eat to celebrate me finishing my Calculus class. I got an A!!! They took us to The Sandpiper which is a steak and seafood restaurant. It was soooo good! I had baked Halibut. And inside it had crab and other yummy stuff. I also had their house salad which had baby shrimp and cashews. I think all house salads should be like that.
